Well, that was honestly not how I planned to spend New Year, but Market Rasen Cancelled it for us, leaving us no choice but to do our own thing. That was only the second newyear for 25 years that I can remember staying at home, and weather permitting it is not something to repeat in a hurry, as it was just not the same.
This years meet is being planned as usual and it looks set to be as spectacular as the previous ones (well not 2010 - 2011 obviously!!!). We are looking at numbers for next years meet, so if you do want to attend you could enquire with our booking officer to get your name added to the waiting list.
If you have booked for the meet then please remember to bring some decorations for the hall, and decorations for the table. If you have any CDs that you would like to play then please make sure they are labelled up so they can easily be returned to you at the end of the meet.
New year is a great chance to get together with friends both old and new, with socials in the hall each night with the Lindum disco. Games and quizzes take place throughout the meet and we have been known to be beetle driving and playing bingo in an afternoon.
Three meals are normally included in the camp fees for the week end, and everyone gets involved with the decorating of the hall ready for the evening socials to take place. If anyone is interested in running a game in the afternoon or evening then contact a member of the committee with details. Last years games included a raffle and a family games night where everyone got involved with playing cards, dominoes, golf, bagatelle and the ball in the basket game.
Fancy dress for new years eve is optional but fun, although some members tend to glam up and get out the old glad rags for the evening. Photos are taken throughout the meet, so look out for your mug shot on the web site after the meet
