It is important to make regular checks of your caravan to ensure that it will be safe on the road. The following is a list of things that you should check regularly:

Tyre pressures and tread. Check for signs of cracking to the outside wall of the tyre which could result in a blowout.

Lights - check that all lights work when connected to the car. Other road users will not be able to see you car lights from the back so it is important that the ones on the caravan work.

When connecting to the car check that the handbrake is released, the snatch chain is on and the jockey wheel is raised.

Before setting off check that all windows and skylights are shut and that the door is closed.
